In the age where filmmakers are minting on the success of movies that are being remade in multiple languages, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is probably one of the very few celebrities who don’t have a single remake to their name. In an old interview with film analyst Komal Nahta, the actor had opened up about his thoughts on doing a remake. While promoting his movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani alongside Ayan Mukerji, the actor had revealed that he is strongly against the idea of remakes.

Self-proclaimed film critic, Kamaal R Khan took to his official Twitter handle to share the 36-second video clip. He hailed Ranbir’s point of view with the caption, “It’s a brilliant statement of #RanbirKapoor!” In the video that is currently going viral on social media, the actor stresses on the fact that he supports original content over remakes. He went on to credit actors and filmmakers who were coming up with new concepts and new characters for the audience. The 40-year-old actor spoke about how actors have stated to prioritise characters over which type of movies they are doing. He went on to question why as an actor he would want to do a movie that someone has already done and made it successful with their hard work. He went on to add he would rather like it if others remade his movies and starred in it. On the work front, the actor was last seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. The Luv Ranjan directorial marks Ranbir’s return to the rom-com genre. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal in his pipeline. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. He also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra part 2 and 3 in the pipeline.
